The Name...What's it all about?
When you are in this area you will experience the majesty of Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the East at 6,288'. While traveling our winding country roads, it is easy to lose your sense of direction, and often be surprised at the amazing views you will have of Mt. Washington standing guard over us.

Agiocochook, or "home of the Great Spirit", is what the Abenaki Indians called the mountain before the European settlers arrived. Famous for its dangerously erratic weather, and long held the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at 231 mph, you're sure to agree the name is fitting.

How This All Began...
Agiocochook Fly Fishing Adventures was born out of the frustration of spending hours and hours in local rivers and streams trying to catch a fish on a fly with lots of specialized equipment that was supposed to be everything needed. For the last few years, all of this equipment rested tucked away in the basement until one day...

I started casually talking with someone I recently met about my interest in fly fishing and my firm belief that catching fish on a fly was only a dream never to come true. Turns out my new friend has lived the dream and went on to tell me many stories of his fly fishing adventures catching a variety of trout and salmon right here in our local waters.

I immediately put him to the challenge...
Would he be able to teach me how to catch a fish with my fly fishing equipment?
I was thrilled when I heard a loud and clear YES and in only a couple of days.

On day two of our adventure, I not only caught one fish, but five fish! My new friend also provided dry land casting instruction to one of our friends who had never fished before. In less than an hour, he was "river ready".

While reviewing our accomplishments we were certain there are others that are in the same predicament.... you've bought all the equipment and have tried fly fishing on your own, and had nothing but a nice day in the water.
